Refund & Cancellation Policy

Most fares sold here are non-refundable once ticketed. This page explains the exceptions and how to claim one.

This policy explains how cancellations and refunds are handled for bookings made through Worlds Travel LLC. It sits alongside our Terms & Conditions. Last updated 14 August 2026.

1. The default is non-refundable

Published airfares in the US market are overwhelmingly non-refundable once ticketed. Assume your booking is non-refundable unless the fare rules shown before payment say otherwise, or one of the situations in section 3 applies.

This is not our preference — it is the airline's fare rule. When you buy a non-refundable fare the money passes to the carrier at ticketing, and they do not return it to us to return to you.

2. What is never refundable

  • Any agency service fee, once the booking is confirmed — including where the airline refunds the fare. It pays for arranging and issuing the booking, which has already been done, and it is disclosed before you pay and itemised on your invoice.
  • Reservation deposits of $50 USD on cars, cruises and packages, once the supplier confirms the reservation. They are credited in full against your final invoice.
  • No-shows. Failing to travel without cancelling first forfeits the full value.
  • Insurance premiums, once the policy is issued, apart from any cooling-off period the underwriter allows.

3. When you are entitled to a refund

Nothing above limits your rights under US federal law. You are owed a refund when:

  • The airline cancels or significantly changes your flight and you decline the alternative flight, credit or voucher offered. Under the US Department of Transportation's refund rule, effective 25 June 2024, this refund is automatic — you should not have to argue for it, and we will not offer you a credit without telling you a refund is available.
  • You paid for something you did not get — a seat assignment, a checked bag, or another ancillary service that was not provided, including a bag that arrived significantly late.
  • Your fare rules allow it. Refundable and flexible fares exist; if you bought one we will file the refund at no extra charge.

4. Cancelling within 24 hours

The federal 24-hour free-cancellation rule applies to tickets bought directly from an airline, not to travel agency bookings. We would rather tell you that than let you rely on it.

What we do: contact us within 24 hours of booking, at least seven days before departure, and we will try to cancel with the airline at no charge from us. The airline decides whether it is permitted. Our service fee already charged is not returned. Call (888) 778-0736 — email is not fast enough for a 24-hour window.

5. How to request a cancellation

Call (888) 778-0736, 24/7, with your booking reference to hand. Cancelling directly with the airline instead can leave the booking in a state we cannot then refund on your behalf, so please come to us first. You can also reach us through the contact page, though a phone call is faster where a deadline is involved.

6. How long a refund takes

Refunds go back to the original payment method — we cannot send them anywhere else. Once the supplier releases the funds to us, we forward them within seven business days for a card payment and twenty calendar days for any other method.

The wait before that point belongs to the airline, and can run to several weeks on an international ticket. We will tell you where your refund sits whenever you ask.

7. If you disagree with a decision

Contact us and we will re-check the fare rules and the supplier's response with you, in writing. If you remain dissatisfied with an aviation matter you may complain to the US Department of Transportation directly.

Please raise it with us before starting a chargeback. Most disputes are a misunderstanding about fare rules and are settled the same day; a chargeback on a booking delivered as described does not create a refund right and takes considerably longer to resolve.

Speak to the desk that made your booking and we will file it with the supplier.
