Can I book a car online right away?

You choose what you need and pay a reservation deposit, which holds your place and is credited in full against the final invoice. Your specialist then calls you with the complete quote for your dates, vehicle class and pick-up location. Nothing further is charged until you approve it, and the deposit is refundable if you decide not to go ahead.

Can you build a holiday around my own dates?

Yes. Tell us where you want to go, when, and roughly what you want the trip to look like, and a consultant puts a package together — flights, hotels, transfers and anything else you ask for. You pay a reservation deposit to start, which is credited in full against the final invoice. The consultant comes back with the complete itinerary and price before anything further is charged.

Do I need a visa?

Entry requirements are set by the government of the country you are travelling to, and they depend on your nationality, the purpose of your trip and how long you are staying. They also change. We are not able to advise on visas or apply for one on your behalf. Check the official source — the destination's embassy or consulate for your country, or your own government's travel advice — well before you travel. Entry requirements are the traveller's responsibility, and an airline can refuse boarding without the right documents.

How do I book a flight?

Search for your route and dates, pick the flight you want, and work through the four checkout steps — review, extras, travellers, payment. We verify your email address with a code before anything is booked. Once you have paid, a consultant issues the ticket with the airline and sends your confirmation and airline reference by email. If anything about the fare needs checking first, we call you before issuing.

How do I cancel a booking?

Open My Trips, find the booking and send a cancellation request. A consultant reads it, checks the fare or supplier rules that apply to your booking, and replies in your account with exactly what cancelling would cost. Nothing is cancelled until you confirm. If you would rather do it on the phone, call us with your booking reference and we will go through it with you.

How do I sign in?

There is no password to remember. Sign in with Google, or enter your email address and we will send you a code — type the code in and you are signed in. The same form creates your account if you are new. Use the same email address you booked with and your trips will already be there.

How do I speak to someone?

Call us. Our consultants are available 24 hours a day on (888) 778-0736, and complex trips, group bookings and anything urgent are always faster on the phone. If it is about a booking you already have, sending a request from My Trips means the consultant has your itinerary in front of them when they reply. For anything else, the contact form reaches the same team.

How does booking a cruise work?

Cruises are priced by a specialist against your exact sailing, cabin grade and party size, so the amount you pay on the site is a reservation deposit rather than the fare. It holds your place and is credited in full against the final invoice. Your specialist calls you with the complete quote — cabin, dining, gratuities, port charges and taxes — before anything further is charged. The deposit is refundable if you decide not to proceed.

How long does a refund take?

Once the airline or supplier approves a refund, the money goes back to the card that paid for the booking. The timing is set by the supplier and by your bank, not by us, so we do not put a date on it. What we will give you is the date the refund was released and the reference to quote to your bank if it has not appeared.

Is my hotel booking confirmed straight away?

When you pay, your room is held and a consultant confirms it with the property. You then receive a confirmation by email with the property's own reference. If the property cannot honour the rate or the room type for any reason, we tell you before anything is finalised and either find an equivalent or refund you in full.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept major credit and debit cards, processed by our payment provider. Card details are entered on the provider's secure page and handled by them — we never see or store your card number. Every payment page is served over our own domain and encrypted in transit.

Is there a service fee?

Accepted Answer

Yes. An agency service fee is added to the fare shown and is itemised separately before you pay, so you can see exactly what it is on the payment step. The amount depends on what you are booking, so there is no single figure to quote here. Taxes and carrier charges are already included in the prices we show, and nothing is charged until you approve the total.

My booking is not showing in My Trips

Accepted Answer

My Trips lists bookings made with the email address you are signed in with. If you booked with a different address — a work one, or a partner's — sign in with that one instead and it will appear. Bookings made over the phone with a consultant are attached to the email address they took at the time. If you are still not seeing it, call us with your booking reference and we will attach it to the right account.

Can I change my dates instead of cancelling?

Accepted Answer

Often yes, and it is frequently cheaper than cancelling and rebooking. Send a change request from My Trips with the dates you would prefer. A consultant checks what your fare allows, gets the airline's or supplier's change fee and any difference in price, and comes back to you with the figure before anything is altered.

Can I change the name on my ticket?

Most airlines do not allow a passenger name to be changed once a ticket has been issued. The ticket belongs to the person named on it. Small spelling corrections are usually possible and are handled directly with the airline. Call us with your booking reference and we will check what your fare allows before anything is changed.

Can I choose my cabin?

Accepted Answer

Usually yes. Most cruise lines let you pick a specific cabin within the grade you book, though the cheapest guarantee fares assign a cabin to you nearer to sailing. Tell your specialist what matters — deck, midship, a balcony, or being near the lifts — and they will quote against it and tell you what the line allows on that fare.

Does my passport need to be valid for six months?

Accepted Answer

Many countries require a passport valid for at least six months beyond your date of entry, and some airlines will not board you without it. Others are less strict. The rule belongs to the destination, so check theirs. One thing that is always true here: the name on your booking must match the name in the passport you travel on, exactly. If it does not, tell us before you travel, not at the airport.

Is my booking refundable?

It depends entirely on the fare or the supplier's rules, which vary enormously — some fares are fully refundable, some allow a partial refund, and some allow none at all. The rules that apply to your booking were set when it was made. Ask us with your reference, or send a question from My Trips, and we will read them back to you before you decide anything.

Question 19

What do I need at the rental desk?

Normally a full driving licence held in the main driver's name, a credit card in that same name for the security hold, and photo identification. Some countries also ask for an International Driving Permit. The exact requirements, the minimum age and any young-driver surcharge are set by the rental supplier and vary by country and location. Your specialist confirms all of it in writing with your quote.

What is included in a package?

It depends on the package. The quote your consultant sends sets out exactly what is included — flights, accommodation, transfers, tours, meals — and, just as importantly, what is not. Nothing beyond the reservation deposit is charged until you have that quote in front of you and have approved it.

Question 21

What might I still have to pay at the hotel?

Accepted Answer

Some properties charge resort fees, city or tourist taxes, parking, or take a refundable damage deposit at check-in. Those are collected by the property, not by us, and are not part of the total you pay here. Where a property has told us about such a charge, it is shown on the room before you book. If you want it confirmed for a specific hotel, call us and we will check with the property.

Who are Worlds Travel?

We are an IATA and CLIA accredited travel agency. Our consultants book flights, hotels, car hire, cruises and tailor-made holidays, and stay with your trip after it is booked — which is why cancellations, changes and questions go to a person here rather than into a form. My card was declined — what now?

A decline is a decision made by your bank or card issuer, and they are the only ones who can tell you why. It is often a routine security check on an unusual or overseas transaction. Calling the number on the back of your card usually clears it in a minute. If it still will not go through, call us — we can look at what happened at our end and arrange another way to pay.

What baggage is included in my fare?

It depends on the fare you booked. Your confirmation lists the cabin and checked allowance for each leg, and that is the figure to go by. Airlines set and occasionally change their own baggage rules, so the airline is always the final authority. If your itinerary uses more than one carrier, the allowance can differ leg to leg — ask us and we will read it back to you.

Your account keeps your trips in one place. From it you can see and download your bookings, send a cancellation, change or question request against any of them and read the consultant's reply, and save traveller details so you are not retyping passport numbers every time.
